who we are _ as individuals

Good question: We are as different and diverse as people just are. Some of us are directly from Berlin, are born here, others have moved here and some are on their journey through. The most of us are between 20 and their mid-thirties. Some have children, others don’t.

We all have different hobbies and jobs, but we look in one direction. Our living conditions are often similar, yet still entirely different. We have various plans and projects, yet still one mutual hope. We all stand at different stages, yet still we are on our way together.

Actually it is not recognisable right away what it is that connects us, yet still you just can’t oversee it.

What brings different people in a city like this together, where you can be as individual as you want to be and on the other hand are always able to find a person like-minded? What makes people share a part of their life and deal with it together?

In our case the answer is a person: Jesus.

He is the reason for our relationships. Whether we are close friends or casual acquaintances, we have gotten to know HIM at some point. For some of us it has been years ago, for others just recently.

Whatever our background is or our former character was, we all got to a point at some time where HE became real and tangible.

That is our certainty, that you can experience and feel God.

We are a community of people that is open for anyone that has questions, uncertainties and doubts. Everyone is welcome in our fellowship. Welcome to take all of this in. Welcome to enquire and to consider, and also welcome to be curious.

Who we are _ as a church

As a whole we are a church. Church is not necessarily a building, but a place, a gathering. As a church we sometimes gather with many people, sometimes only with a few, to praise God, to hear from his word, to pray. We meet to meet HIM. We concentre towards him. Church facilitates fellowship with God.

But we also meet with each other, we meet friends, casual acquaintances and new people. And how does that look like then? Well, just like when people meet... We hang out together, we laugh, play, talk, pray, discuss etc. Sometimes we also argue or go on each other’s nerves, just like it is when people come together.

Through the last 2000 years people who have met Jesus have started to share life. Joy, sorrow, challenges and breakthroughs, victories and defeats.

That is church, a lively, diverse fellowship.

To share life, to be on the way together, that is what we want.
